What we have heard and saw on our TV screen

Filed under: Uncategorized — middleeastcrisis @ 12:42 pm

 1. Hizbollah has kidnapped two israelis soldier and fired rockets into Northern Israel.

2. Isreali govt responded by begining the bombardment of Lebanon.

3. The US and Britain lending their support to Israel.

4. The Sunni Arab countries, condemning hizbollah’s actions and agree that Israel has a right to defend itself.

5. An interview by Benjamin Nettanyahu on SKY TV likening the israelis response to british response when attacked by the german in the second world war.

6. We have seen Israeli ambassador to the UN (Gillerman) justifying Israel’s actions on BBC TV program “Hard Talk” when he accused Britain of going to war with the Argentinian over the Falkland Island “over a couple of sheep”.

7.We have seen Condaleza Rice circumnavigating the middle east between Lebanon, Israel and Palestine, culminating in a futile effort in ROME.

8. We have heard of the US exercising their VETO power  yet again in the UN.

9.We have heard and partly seen Hizbollah rockets raining down on Northern Israelis cities.

10. We have seen the military might of Israel going after Hizbollah and wrecking Lebanon.

11. We have seen international community standing by and offering humanitarian help.

11.We have seen US pledging humanitarian help to Lebanon, while at the same time sending weapons to Israel.

12.We have heard of civilian living in Bunkers in Israel and civilian in Lebanon being massacred.

13.We have seen the infrastructure of lebanon been destroyed while at the same time israelis plane dropping leaflet warning citizens to flee.

14.We have seen UN observer position being bombed and UN personnel killed.

It goes on and on…..

Today we read that Israel has agreed to HOLD FIRE for twenty four hours.

We have had American observer claiming that under the Law of War, Israel is not acting illegally.

Just in case we have missed anything….. When was war declared? By who? on who?

Please comment:

  1. Are you an idiot? “When was war declared?” is firing rockets at kidnapping considered an act of peace and friendship at some places in the world?

  2. Eran, shut up. Firstly Hizbullah is not a state, and does not represent the state of Lebanon (this fact is a big part of the problem). Secondly, Hizbullah have kindapped soldiers before and they didn’t get this sort of response. Border skirmishes and targeted assasinations have been ongoing ever since Israel left Lebanon – there was no way Hizbullah could have expected this kind of reaction.

Hizbullah are fighting a very limited war. Firstly, they want the Shabaa farms back, which is reasonable. Secondly, they want Lebanese prisoners currently rotting in Israeli jails without charge or trial to be release – again, a perfectly reasonable demand.

Lastly, stop being rude to someone who is simply trying to encourage debate, simply because you don’t think he agrees with you. We aren’t cavemen any more – reasoned discussion is what we need, not mindless insults.

  3. Eran Kampf:
It would be helpful if you provide your views rather than insult people. this kind of attitude does not bode well for whichever side you happen to represent or favour.

If you happen to know Who declared war? on who? lets hear it….
    Good luck

  4. Well, Sunni countries DO NOT support Israel and DO NOT consedir what is Israel doing is a self defence, they only disagree with Hizbollah because they browght some problem to Lbanon. Israel is a terrorsit state they attack civilians, schools, hosptals, malls , resential building, they are not deffrent than any terrosrist group, they only deffrent between them is that they are groups and israel is a state !!

  5. 1. Lebanon has been officially at war with Israel for decades.

    2. Hizbollah makes up a part of the Lebanese government so it does in fact represent Lebanon and it’s continued attacks against Israel are acts of war. The fact that Israel has not responded at this level previously in the last six years does not mean it is not in its right currently.

    3. It is fully accepted that Hizbollah stores weapons in civilian weapons and fires those weapons from and/or next to civilian buildings.

    4. Israel does not intentionally target civilians but it cannot allow Hizbollah to fire rockets, etc into Israel. On the other hand, Hizbollah fires random rockets into Israel with no intent other than to intentionally hit civilian targets. Hizbollah has also blocked Lebanese civilians from leaving targetted areas with the express intent of increasing civilian casualties on the Lebanese side.

    5. If Israel had not concern for civilians then this battle would already have been over, Israel would just have carpet bombed southern Lebanon. Instead, Israel has used targetted rocket attacks against Hizbollah launch sites and weapons caches and has now sent in ground troups to limit the number of civilian casualties.

    6. Shabaa Farms are internationally recognized as Syrian territory. Israel fully and unilaterally pulled out of all Lebanese territory.

  6. Lisa your comments look as though they came directly from the ministry of propaganda in tel aviv. There is NO reason israel can give for destroying an entire country over 2 soldiers. The pows, not kidnapee`s, were taken because the IDF really did kidnap a palestinian Dr and his wife in Gaza and were never heard from again. Then 3 days later the IDF bombed 5 families having a picnic on the beach. If you are such a mindcontrol freak as to not see why people hate jews and israelis then you are part of the problem. No amount of “oops sorry we made a mistake” can justify killing 1000s of innocent people. The problem with the IDF is that they are too cowardly to go in and get the terrorists. Cant have jewish males die now can we, that may further drop the jew population over the near future. But it doesnt matter WHOM the IDF kills, they declared there are no innocent people when jews were at war.

Wake up world, see who the real enemy is.
